The purpose of the museum is to describe the history of the wine, the territory and the people of Carmignano from the Etruscans to the Renaissance and the 20th century.
Montemurlo, the second biggest municipality of the Province of Prato, set between the hills at the east and the river Agna at the west, is dominated by the Fortress from the 10th century. A severe irregular building surrounded by a holm-oak park. The Medieval fortress became a high-class residence in the 16th century and it was here where Montemurlo fell to the Medici family of Filippo Strozzi in 1537.
